How the Sixty4 compatibility score works

Every percentage on Sixty4, in the app and on this site, comes from the same small formula. Here it is in full: which axes count, how much each one weighs, and why some differences help instead of hurt.

Six axes, six weights

Your Sixty4 type comes from a score of 0 to 100 on each of six axes: the four familiar letters, plus Identity and Love pace. Each axis compares the two of you with one of three rules, and the result is weighted:

Similarity: Mind and Love pace

Seeing the world the same way and falling for someone at the same speed make up almost half of the score (27% + 22%). Here closer is better, and the fit drops faster than the gap grows: a 50-point gap leaves only 20% of the fit, and at a gap of 62.5 points or more it is zero. Sixty4 treats a big gap on these two axes as a real deal-breaker.

Sweet spot: Nature, Energy and Tactics

On these axes a moderate difference scores best. The idea: a little contrast keeps things balanced and interesting. Nature peaks at a 35-point gap, Energy and Tactics at 30. Being exactly alike still keeps 57% of the fit (Nature) or 66% (Energy, Tactics); only complete opposites drop to 20%.

Steadiness: Identity

Identity ignores the gap. It looks at how steady the two of you are together: the more your combined score leans Assertive, the higher the fit, from 45% for two fully Turbulent people to 100% for two fully Assertive ones. One steady partner is enough to lift it.

From six fits to one score

Each fit (0 to 1) is multiplied by its weight and the results are added up. That total is mapped to a friendlier scale: a base of 40 plus up to 55 points. Classic pairs get 6 extra points, and nothing goes above 99.

score = 40 + 55 × (sum of fit × weight) + 6 for a classic pair

The label next to each score follows fixed bands:

88–99Rare match
78–87Great match
66–77Good potential
40–65Opposites attract?

Classic pairs

A short, fixed list of core-type pairings that personality fans often call ideal gets a bonus of 6 points. Across the site they are marked “classic pair”:

A worked example

Take ENFP-T-R and INFP-A-R, with each letter at a typical 75% lean. Here is what every axis adds, in points on the final scale:

AxisLettersFitWeightPoints
MindN + N100%27%14.9

EnergyE + I77%12%5.1
TacticsP + P66%12%4.3
IdentityT + A73%12%4.8

Now change one letter: make the second person Grounded (INFP-A-G). The Love pace fit falls from 100% to 20%, and the score from 86% (Great match) to 76% (Good potential). Love pace isn't one of the classic four letters, but as this shows, it still carries the second-biggest weight.

Scores on this site vs. in the app

Pages on this site have no test answers to work with, so each letter is treated as a typical 75% lean. A core pair's score (like INFJ + ENFP) is the average over all 16 Identity and Love pace combinations, and every pair page shows the full range.

In the app the same formula uses your real test results, so intensity counts: a 52% Extravert and a 95% Extravert are not treated the same. Two people with identical codes can get different scores, and your score with someone can be higher or lower than the averages here.

What the score is not

It is a conversation starter, not a verdict. The weights are Sixty4’s own design choices for dating, not the result of a scientific study, and no number can predict how two real people will get along. Use it to find people worth talking to, then let the talking decide.

FAQ

Which personality axis matters most for compatibility on Sixty4?

Mind (27%): whether you take in the world through concrete details or through ideas and possibilities. It shapes what you talk about every day, so Sixty4 weights it most heavily. Love pace comes second at 22%, Nature gets 15%, and Energy, Tactics and Identity get 12% each.

What is a good compatibility score on Sixty4?

Scores run from 40 to 99. 88–99 is labeled “Rare match”, 78–87 “Great match”, 66–77 “Good potential” and anything lower “Opposites attract?”. A high score means the formula sees a lot of common ground, not that a relationship will work.

Why is my score in the app different from the type pages?

The site treats every letter as a typical 75% lean and averages the 16 Identity and Love pace versions of each core pair. The app uses both people's real test percentages, so how strongly you lean on each axis changes the result.

Is the Sixty4 compatibility score scientific?

No. The axes and weights are Sixty4's own design choices for dating, meant for fun and self-reflection. No formula can predict how two real people will get along.
